Forced out of retirement?

It seems like the upcoming movie "The Cokeville Miracle" is going to force this Cokeville blog out of retirement, at least for a while. This blog had completely fallen off any radar, and now is spiking like crazy. I mean, really? It's showing up in a Google search? On the first page? It's either the movie's showing at a recent film festival or, well, I'm sure we have not been selected for a free downtown makeover. Or maybe we have? Hmmm...

So, what can we do to help you? We are a little town, completely happy in our anonymity. Now we are back in some people's spotlight, and can only imagine that spotlight will increase over the next few months. There are many friendly folks here who love living in an excellent little spot in Wyoming filled with just about the neatest people on earth, but please remember that the movie is not about Cokeville. It is about amazing things that happened here. And there are messages to be learned for sure.  And certainly the love and happy thoughts that are sent our way are appreciated and welcome. So if after hearing about this new movie you are curious about our town, fair enough.
Most of us are happy to help where we can. And that is certainly the case with this blog. However, you can understand that the attention was not asked for by our community and I ask on behalf of many others that you respect our desire to continue our quiet lives in our special little town. Thank you!

Cokeville.blogspot.com will be rolling back into action this year. We've let the Town of Cokeville (www.cokevillewy.org) and the Cokeville School's (www.cokeville.com) take on most of the web action during the past year but we have found that the blog is missed!

Homemade Oreo Cookies
2 devils food cake mixes
1 1/3 c shortening (butter works)
4 eggs

Mix, roll in balls, bake 375, 8 minutes

Cool. Add frosting on the back of one cookie, sandwich with a second cookie back. Enjoy!

Frosting:
½ pound powdered sugar
½ cup butter
4 oz cream cheese
½ tsp. vanilla

Notice from Lincoln County Public Health and Lincoln County’s Health Officer: Yesterday afternoon, a concerned citizen reported the possibility of an infectious disease in the Cokeville area. There is no conclusive evidence of an infectious disease in the area at this time. As is always recommended, continue to practice good hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and often, coughing into your elbow and using tissue when sneezing or blowing your nose. This message will be updated when further information is received.

MARCH 30's- Harlem Ambassador's basketball show at the Cokeville High School. $4 adults/ $2 kids.
