Yes it's true - we're not part of the million...

It's true - Disney's Give a Day - Get a Day program is already over. And it's still March. For those that don't know, for qualified organizations could have volunteers donate a day and then receive a free ticket to Disney Land or Disney World. Cokeville Miracle Foundation had talked of pairing with the Centennial Committee to give people of Cokeville a chance to participate in this program. We were going to start in April. So, we are not able to be part of the "million volunteers" goal (although the program never stated the amount of tickets they would be giving away.)

However, volunteers are still needed! If you would like to participate in a Centennial event contact Charlotte or Carol. If you would like to participate in the Cokeville Miracle Foundation, contact Karla, Susan, Chemene or Bill.
Thanks Cokeville!

Funeral for Adeline Freeman Johnson

The following email was sent by Charlotte Freeman, daughter-in-law of Adeline. She gave permission for cokeville.blogspot.com to post the email, along with an addition of the viewing times in Montpelier.

Dear Ones,

I am sad to write and announce the passing of Norman's mother, Adeline Freeman-Johnson on Wednesday, March 17th at the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Center in Montpelier, ID.

Viewing will Sunday, March 21, from 6-8 pm at Matthews Mortuary and in Cokeville at the LDS Church a viewing will be Monday, March 22nd from 10am-11:45am in the Cokeville LDS Relief Society Room. The funeral will commence at 12 noon.
Immediately following the funeral service, internment will take place at the Cokeville cemetery. Lunch will be served at the church for friends, family and those from out of town. Please advise me if you will, so that I can tell the Relief Society President how many to prepare lunch for.

Matthews Mortuary is caring for mom.

Norman is doing very well at this time. Mom had been 'shutting down' for the past week. She was in no pain and was kept completely comfortable. Her passing is not so sad for us, knowing how many loved ones were waiting to welcome her. I will miss my visits to her; but have many pleasant memories of these past 6 years together.

If you have any questions, my number is 801-510-5100 (C) or 307-279-3306 (home).

Love to all,

Charlotte PS Forgive me if I duplicated your name...it was not on purpose...

.

Adeline's Obituary can be read at the Kemmerer Gazette online by clicking here.

New Start for Favorites!

Due to a reader's comment, all links to:" seen, found, suggested and favorites" (our Cokeville related link list that doesn't fit in any other area, like a Cokeville person with a non-Cokeville based business, families etc.) have been one-time erased.

Cokeville.blogspot.com will immediately start to rebuild this list based on internet and internet application-generated information.

Please read our sidebar note for more information on this subject!
Thanks!

Please let cokeville.blogspot.com know (cokevilleblog@gmail.com or karla_toomer@yahoo.com) if you want to be added sooner rather than later and we will do so. (But be patient, this blog is not staffed or "manned" on a regular basis so changes to add or delete are not guaranteed within any time frame)

FYI: There are many ways people "out there" link to your blog or website. Here is just one example of the linking of blogs and personal information to the world, without your knowledge:
http://feedjit.com/news/US/wyoming-state/

This linking is based solely on the word "Wyoming". We have historically linked based solely on the word "Cokeville".

Chamber names Award Recipients

The Cokeville Chamber of Commerce has announced the following as the recipients of the annual LIFETIME Achievement and Person of the Year (2009):

The Town of Cokeville has historically allowed the Chamber 15 minutes during a council meeting to present these awards and then retire to a different room for refreshments. A date and place of this event will be listed when it is known, hopefully in April or May.

Cokeville Register

Keep your eyes out for the Cokeville Register. The first issue, complete with a last minute breaking news insert, will be distributed today. You'll notice we had some technical difficulties during printing, but a few corrected issues are floating around too. This is still a learning process for those of us involved in getting this issue out, and we will continue to make progress and improvements. The Register will be published monthly, on the first Monday after the First Wednesday. Sounds complicated, but this will allow us to include the most recent updates from the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Steering Committee, which meet on the first Wednesday of each month.

If you would like a digital copy of the newspaper emailed to you, send requests to smgailey@aol.com. Items for the community calendar can be sent to the same address. If you would like to advertise in a future issue, please contact Harry Staven at the town hall for advertising rates. Classified ads can be purchased for as little as $5. Deadline for submissions for our next issue is April 1.
