Minerva Teichert Invitational Art Show

The word "Invitational" may be throwing off some people. The invitational refers to the artists, not to the people that can attend! This great show, now in it's 4th year, starts tomorrow with Julie Rogers speaking at the LDS church at 10am about Minerva Teichert. The Show opens at Pine Creek at 1 with artists and their works on display. There is a dutch oven dinner, very reasonably priced, at 6pm. Original Art, and some prints, are for sale as well. At 8pm is a free date night with a movie, National Treasure 2, also at Pine Creek - but you'll want to bring coats and blankets - it will be outside and IT WILL BE COLD!

There was an article in the Kemmerer Gazette this week about Charles Dayton, our own resident Western Artist, which also gave a brief history on how the Minerva Teichert Invitational Art Show came to be.

Many thanks to: Charles Dayton and the Cokeville Arts Council (I don't know all the names!) for their preparation for this event. Char Freeman worked her tail end off today: she spent all morning decorating Pine Creek (others too, please supply me the names!), to arrive to eat lunch with the State Librarians at noon, to attend the presentation at 1pm, to attend training from 7-9pm, to play hostess to several out of town visitors that night!
